State Tax Service presented the updated UI/UX concept of the Electronic Cabinet for entrepreneurs

State Tax Service of Ukraine presented updating concept of the taxpayer’s Electronic Cabinet for individuals-entrepreneurs. It was discussed during the open workshop with participation of entrepreneurs, accountants, tax consultants and opinion leaders. 

Event was held with support of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP program, implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation and with systemic support of the Digitalisation for Growth, Integrity and Transparency (UK DIGIT) project and the Public Finance Management Support Programme for Ukraine (EU4PFM).

Today, the Electronic Cabinet is used by more than 5.4 million taxpayers. Over the years, its functionality has been constantly expanding, but along with a number of services, structure, navigation and search for necessary information have become more complicated. Therefore, modernization of its software involves not only updating the design, but also a comprehensive review of logic of the Cabinet’s work.

“We are consistently moving to the “Tax as a Service” model, which focuses on the payer’s needs. Our goal is to change very logic of interaction with the Tax Service: from complex procedures and the need to independently search for answers to a clear, predictable and proactive service. The updated Electronic Cabinet should become a single personalized digital space that helps the payer fulfill tax obligations in a timely manner and without unnecessary effort” – emphasized Deputy Head of the State Tax Service for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization (CDTO), Igor Panchenko.

What does the concept of the updated Cabinet entail:

All important information on the main screen. The user will immediately see if there is a tax debt, what reports need to be filed, what needs attention and what important dates are approaching.

Personalized interface. Cabinet will adapt to the needs of a specific user – citizen, individual-entrepreneur or accountant who works with several enterprises or entrepreneurs.

Less manual filling. Information already contained in the State Tax Service’s information resources will be used for automatic pre-filling. The payer will not have to re-enter data that the state already has.

Clear path from commitment to payment. Cabinet will show amount and allow to choose convenient payment method: use one of the offered payment systems, pay via the Apple Pay or Google Pay or via the QR code of the NBU to pay via your bank.

Full-fledged work from a smartphone. Basic tax transactions can also be performed from a mobile device.

The updated interface of the Electronic Cabinet is being created together with payers. Involvement of entrepreneurs, accountants and experts allows us to test solutions in real user scenarios and improve them before the start of technical implementation.

Modernization of the Electronic Cabinet software is a part of strategic course “Tax as a Service” and is carried out with support of the EGAP program, implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation with support of Switzerland, project "Digitalisation for Growth, Integrity and Transparency" (UK DIGIT) and Public Finance Management Support Programme for Ukraine (EU4PFM).
