As a part of the National barrier-free week, a number of educational and awareness-raising events were held in the State Tax Service’s bodies aimed at developing culture of a human-centered approach in the work of civil servants.
One of the events was training session “Barrier-free work in the State Tax Service: respect, accessibility, modern service”. Participants discussed role of barrier-free work in activities of the state institutions, importance of information accessibility, respectful communication and creating comfortable conditions for all citizens.
Special emphasis was placed on practical aspects of interacting with visitors. Employees reviewed typical situations that may arise when citizens contact government agencies, also practiced skills of empathy, supportive communication, and understanding people's individual needs.
Important continuation of the educational program was a webinar, organized in cooperation with the State Tax University, dedicated to psychology of the human-centered interaction and professional communication in public administration. Participants were introduced to modern approaches to creating barrier-free environment, principles of effective professional communication, prevention of discrimination, and creation of atmosphere of trust between the state and citizens.
In addition, the State Tax Service’s employees underwent basic training on the educational platform “Diia. Education” based on the series “Public Service Without Barriers”. Program helped to deepen knowledge about digital and physical accessibility, creating understandable information, as well as overcoming social and cultural barriers in professional activities.
State Tax Service of Ukraine consistently works on development of accessible and open service, where every citizen will feel comfortable and have equal opportunities to receive quality services.
