From registration to scaling: how tax support works for veteran business

Tax support service for veteran entrepreneurship continues to gain popularity in Ukraine. Defenders address to the Tax Consultant Offices at all stages of business activity. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the State Tax Service for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Igor Panchenko on the “Radio Khartia”.

In 9 months of work, the Tax Consultant Offices have already provided total of almost 119 thousand consultations to Ukrainians. Among them are veterans who are working or already developing their own business.

“Today, network of Tax Consultant Offices works in 19 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv. Here, veterans can receive free professional consultations in 13 areas – from business registration to scaling it and participation in the grant programs” – Igor Panchenko noted.

According to him, the most often veterans who are just starting their business activities ask questions about choosing taxation system, business registration, record keeping, using registrars of settlement transactions, submitting reports and timely payment of taxes.

In addition to individual consultations, the Tax Consultant Offices actively conduct information and awareness-raising events. More than 3500 veterans have already participated in seminars, trainings and educational meetings. Such events not only help to gain necessary knowledge, but also create opportunities for communication and mutual support within the veteran community.

As Deputy Head of the State Tax Service noted, the service is useful not only for beginners. Consultations are also available for the veteran entrepreneurs who have already received grants, run business and plan to expand it. Growing interest in the grant programs indicates active development of the veteran entrepreneurship and desire of veterans to invest in their own projects.

“In addition, the “green corridor” principle works for the veterans. They can take advantage of priority appointments at the Taxpayer Service Centers and Tax Consultant Offices through the electronic queue. We adapt to the veteran, so that it is possible to choose any time and day that suits the veteran to receive administrative services or consultations. Separate line has also been created for them in Contact Center of the State Tax Service and special thematic block in the service’s chat bot in Viber” – Igor Panchenko emphasized.

Since the service began operating, more than 1500 people have contacted the State Tax Service through special line of the Contact Center.

Comprehensive consulting support helps veterans more confidently start their own business, avoid common mistakes and successfully develop their business after returning to civilian life.
