Processing industry is the leader in tax payments in the first half of 2026

According to results of the first half of the year, processing industry became the leader in terms of amount of paid taxes. This is 17.6% of the total amount paid to the consolidated budget – practically every 5 UAH. This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh on the Facebook page.

"Country's resilience is measured not only by our ability to resist the enemy. It is also measured by whether the economy is working. Especially in conditions when russians are constantly attacking energy infrastructure, production and enterprises. Ukrainian business is becoming more and more difficult. But our business is invincible, despite extremely difficult conditions, it overcomes challenges, preserves jobs and pays taxes" – Lesya Karnaukh added.

Significant share was also formed by:

- whole and retail sales, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles – 15.9%;

- public administration and defense, obligatory social insurance – 12.0%;

- financial and insurance activities – 11.5%.

These industries also demonstrated the biggest increase in payments to the budget compared to the first half of 2025.

Leaders are again the processing industry, which increased payments by 33.5 billion UAH (+19.1%).

Enterprises in the public administration and defense sectors paid 21.3 billion UAH more (+17.5%), whole and retail sales, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles – 18.6 billion UAH (+10.9%), and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning – 18.3 billion UAH (+28.5%).

Our task is to support taxpayers, provide clear rules and high-quality service so that even in the most difficult conditions, business can work and develop" - emphasized  acting Head of the State Tax Service.
