Employees of the State Tax Service improved their first aid skills during practical training

Employees of the State Tax Service of Ukraine underwent practical and theoretical training “Pre-medical aid and resuscitation measures in adults”, during which they improved their knowledge and practiced practical skills in providing aid in emergency situations.

Participants in the eight-hour training mastered algorithm for providing emergency aid, practiced procedure for critical bleeding, ensuring airway patency, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and using a defibrillator. They also learned about specifics of providing aid in shock, pneumothorax, anaphylaxis and hypothermia.

The main emphasis was on practice. Employees of the State Tax Service trained to use tourniquets, perform wound packing, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, interact in a team, and act according to specific algorithms in various simulated emergency situations.

Such trainings are important component of development of professional competencies of State Tax Service’s employees. Acquired knowledges and practical skills will help to respond quickly in critical situations, increase level of safety in the workplaces and can be crucial for saving person's life until the arrival of medical workers.

Training was organized by the HR Department of the State Tax Service in cooperation with the Ukrainian Rescue School. Event was held with assistance of the Central Project Management Agency (CPVA, Lithuania) and the international technical assistance project “Public Finance Management Support Programme in Ukraine (EU4PFM): Components 1, 3 and 4”.
