State Tax Service of Ukraine and global technology company Mastercard have signed Memorandum of understanding. Partners have agreed to work together on digital solutions designed to make paying taxes as convenient and technologically advanced as possible.
Cooperation will focus on three key areas to stimulate cashless payments and increase financial literacy.
Developing cashless payments for a transparent economy: learning international experience in conducting fiscal lotteries and possibility of using such tools in Ukraine to stimulate cashless payments and develop cashless economy.
Development of digital services for the taxpayers: development of the new digital solutions for the Electronic taxpayer’s cabinet, which will make paying taxes, levies and other payments even faster and more convenient.
Increasing financial and tax literacy: development of educational materials for entrepreneurs on the use of business accounts, cards and payment automation.
“We are all used to the fact that many things can be done in a smartphone in a couple of seconds. And therefore, the Tax Service, which strives to be modern and responsive to requests, is doing everything to make paying taxes less stressful. Together with the Mastercard, we will combine state technologies with the best payment experience so that interaction with the Tax Service becomes invisible and simple to everyone” – emphasized acting Head of the State Tax Service, Lesya Karnaukh.

Digital projects under the Memorandum will be coordinated by Deputy Head of the State Tax Service for Digitalization (CDTO) Igor Panchenko and Director for Public Sector Ukraine & Moldova at Mastercard Kostiantyn Koshelenko. Implementation of specific initiatives will be based on separate agreements in compliance with tax and personal data protection legislation.
