Almost 88 thousand citizens as of August 1, 2026 declared right to the tax rebate. Before the budgetary refunding, they declared 582.5 million UAH of the personal income tax.
Tax rebate allows officially employed citizens to return part of paid personal income tax. In particular, it can include expenses for education, mortgage interest, certain medical services, insurance and charity.
To receive the tax rebate, it is needed to submit annual property status and income declaration and supporting documents. This can be done by December 31 of year following the reporting year.
Who is entitled to the tax rebate, what expenses can be included in it, how to submit declaration and avoid the most common mistakes – this was explained in detail live on the DIM TV channel by Tetiana Sydorenko, Deputy Head of the Department – Head of the Individuals Taxation Department of the State Tax Service of Ukraine.
She also talked about the most common errors in the process of submitting declaration:
- lack of documents confirming payment;
- inconsistency of data in the contract and payment documents, for example, one person is listed in the contract, and another in the payment documents;
- incorrect determination of the expenses amount, failure to take into account established restrictions for certain types of expenses;
- missing established deadline for submitting declaration – December 31 inclusively.
Do not delay and check your expenses for the past year so as not to lose the opportunity to return funds.
