Almost 3 billion UAH of the environmental tax was paid to the budget in the first seven months of 2026

32.5 thousand taxpayers paid almost 3 billion UAH of the environmental tax in January – July 2026. This is 18.9 million UAH or 0.6% more than in the corresponding period last year.

The biggest environmental tax revenues were provided by payers of:

- Kyiv – 619.8 million UAH;

- Dnipropetrovsk region – 579.4 million UAH;

- Ivano-Frankivsk region – 308.0 million UAH;

- Zaporizhzhia region – 206.4 million UAH.

Environmental tax is important source of financing for environmental protection measures. Its revenues contribute to implementation of the environmental protection programs, restoration of natural resources and improvement of the environmental safety level.

Payers of the environmental tax are business entities that carry out:

- emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere by stationary sources;

- discharges of pollutants directly into water bodies;

- waste disposal;

- generation and temporary storage of radioactive waste.
