Caution: taxpayers receive fake letters from the courts with “summonses” at the request of tax authority

Taxpayers are contacting the State Tax Service, reporting receipt of suspicious emails allegedly from the courts.

Such messages refer to the alleged initiation of legal proceedings based on the claim filed by the State Tax Service. Attachment to the letter supposedly contains “electronic summons” for the court hearing.

Please note: State Enterprise “Electronic Court Systems” reported that such letters are fake and disguised as official court notifications.

Suspicious attachments and links in this phishing email can be used to gain access to the user’s computer, accounts and personal data.

Therefore, if you receive such message:

- do not open attachments and files from suspicious emails;

- do not click on links;

- do not enter passwords, qualified electronic signature data, confirmation codes or other personal data;

- carefully check sender’s email address;

- check information about presence of the court case only through the official judicial services.

State Tax Service urges taxpayers to be careful and not to follow instructions in suspicious emails. If the email is suspicious, check information received through the official channels.
