1.3 million taxpayers paid 475.5 billion UAH of the personal income tax in January – August 2026. This is 19.2% more than in the same period last year. Then this figure was 399 billion UAH.
The biggest amounts of the personal income tax for this period came from payers:
- Kyiv city – 113.6 billion UAH,
- Dnipropetrovsk region – 46.1 billion UAH,
- Lviv region – 33.4 billion UAH,
- Kyiv region – 29.6 billion UAH.
Personal income tax is one of the budget-forming taxes and the main source of local budgets. Its revenues provide communities with financial resources to carry out important tasks, in particular in education, healthcare, social protection, improvement and infrastructure development. Timely payment of taxes is especially important in conditions of the martial law, as it is stable budget revenues that enable the state and communities to fulfill their obligations and finance priority needs.
At the same time, official employment and legal payment of income have advantages for citizens themselves. If during the year a person received official income from which the personal income tax was paid, such person can use right to tax rebate and return part of the tax paid for certain types of expenses.
It is possible to use right to the tax rebate for expenses incurred in 2025 until December 31, 2026.
