The STS reduced a number of unscheduled audits almost by one third and focused on the risky taxpayers – Serhii Verlanov

Over August-October 2019 the State tax service has conducted 2.7 thousand unscheduled audits in comparison to 3.8 thousand for same period 2018. The number of 1.1 thousand scheduled audits has been conducted over August-October 2019 that is 200 audits less than in August-October 2018.

Documentary (scheduled and unscheduled) audits during the specified period have covered 5.9% of big business entities, 0.9% of medium-sized business entities and only 0.2% of small. For conduction of audits there was selection of the taxpayers - legal entities solely made on the risk-oriented basis, the accruals on the results of audits  have increased from 6.8 billion UAH in August-October 2018 to 13.3 billion UAH for the same period 2019.

“New Tax service has taken the course on reducing audits and pressure on business. We have strengthened our analytical work and improved our taxpayer selection system for audits. That is, we come for audit only when there are real reasons to suspect business entity in attempts of tax evasion. As follows, the results prove that we have chosen the right approach: number of unscheduled audits for the period of the STS activity in comparison of August-October 2019 to August-October 2018 has decreased by one third. Accruals on the basis of audit results have increased twice” – Serhii Verlanov commented results of the STS verification activity.
