The STS leadership initiated a large-scale anti-corruption inspection

On 13.01.2020 the National anti-corruption bureau of Ukraine released information regarding possible involvement of officials of the Main Directorate of the STS in Odessa region in committing a criminal offense (offer and provision of unlawful benefits).
In this regard the State tax service reports the following:
as of today duties of acting head, first deputy and two deputy chiefs of the Main Directorate of the STS in Odessa region are terminated; temporarily acting Head of the Main Directorate of the STS was appointed.
To conduct a thorough verification of facts provided in the NABU investigation’s public information there was:
- created operational working group consisting of 16 persons representatives from departments of the departmental control, corruption prevention and legal support;
- according to the Order of the STS as of 14.01.2020 was started the departmental inspection of the organization of work of the Main Directorate of the STS in Odessa region and inspection of structural subdivisions of the Central apparatus of the STS regarding the application of tax legislation, fulfillment of requirements of legislative, other normative-legal acts and administrative documents of the STS (SFS), leadership assignments, etc;
- part of an operational working group was directed to the Main Directorate of the STS in Odessa region, at the same time the rest of operational group will carry out verification measures at the Central apparatus of the STS.
As a result of the departmental inspection there are expected:
1. Decision on bringing officials of the Main Directorate of the STS in Odessa region and the Central apparatus of the STS to the disciplinary responsibility.
2. Transfer of inspection materials to the law enforcement agencies.
3. A follow-up inspection of integrity of the heads of territorial bodies and Central apparatus of the STS of Ukraine.
