Government approved Strategy on counteraction against the illicit production and turnover of tobacco products

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the implementation plan of Strategy on counteraction against the illicit production and turnover of tobacco products for the period up to 2021. This document will help to liquidate all forms of illicit production and turnover of tobacco products.

The main objective of Strategy is to reduce conditions for existence of the shadow economy and corruption and, as a result, to improve Ukraine’s investment image.

Implementation plan envisages systematic research at the state level in this area, in particular with regard to the illegal production and turnover of tobacco products.

Among the main steps in this direction there are:

- adoption of the relevant legal acts;

- conduction of appropriate actions and making management decisions by the executive authorities;

- intensification of international cooperation.

Document determines indicators and timing of these measures.
