STS and Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Poland expand bilateral cooperation in the VAT administration

Ways to expand bilateral cooperation, specifically in the VAT administration and income tax distribution system – these topics were discussed during the meeting by Chairman of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko, Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Svitlana Vorobei, Deputy Chairmen of the STS, leading specialists of Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Poland, National Revenue Administration of the Republic of Poland and representatives of Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine.

According to Chairman of the STS Oleksiy Lyubchenko, the exchange of experience, technologies and information between Ukraine and Poland has great prospects.

During the meeting, Oleksiy Lyubchenko outlined main tasks of the State Tax Service of Ukraine until the end of current year, including the launch of the STS as a single legal entity. According to him, the reform will help removing intermediate links and simplify management both horizontally and vertically. Among functional areas, the main one remains the taxpayers’ service, as well as the tax administration, risk identification, analytical and control – verification work.

The Polish side expressed interest in further acquaintance with the VAT electronic administration system.

Effective mechanisms for combating a cross-border fraud were also discussed. Participants of the meeting agreed to continue active work to attract taxpayers to high motivation in terms of completeness of declaration and payment of taxes.
