According to Chairman of Ukrainian Association of Renewable Energy Oleksandr Kozakevych who on the 28th of October 2020 published on his Facebook page information that “tax revenues from the “Greens” amounted to 19.8 billion UAH in 2019”. These amounts were paid by the taxpayers included in the Register of Electricity Facilities Using Alternative Energy Sources (excepting the blast furnace and coke oven gases but with the use of hydropower only micro-, mini- and small hydropower plants) posted on the website of National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities.
Most of these enterprises pay taxes on their core business activity which is not related to the production of electricity from renewable sources. From the total amount of 19.8 billion UAH, specifically 13.5 billion UAH was paid by three taxpayers (JSC “Ukrtransgaz”, SE “NNEGC “Energoatom” and PJSC “Lvivoblenergo”).
Amount of electricity generated by them at the “green” tariff was only 0.2 million kWh from 5598.8 million kWh or 0.003%.
Regarding the taxpayers who produce electricity at the “green” tariff
Of the total number of business entities (917) included in the Register, the number of 483 taxpayers produced “green” electricity in 2019. Almost half (44%) of the total amount of electricity from renewable sources was generated by 14 enterprises.
In 2019, they paid 1.6 billion UAH of payments to budgets of all levels or 8.1% from the total payment indicated by O. Kozakevych (19.8 billion UAH).
We also inform that during previous years (2017 – 2020) the state reimbursed almost 3.5 billion UAH of the value added tax from the budget to these 14 enterprises; 3.7 billion UAH was paid to the budget during this period, including income tax totaling 1.2 billion UAH. The number of employees as of 01.01.2020 is 305 people.
