Tax specialists exposed illegal attempt to reimburse the VAT totaling 170 million UAH

Tax specialists jointly with Chief Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed illegal attempt to reimburse the VAT by entering inaccurate data in the VAT tax declarations.

It was established that during 2020 a number of enterprises of Odessa region submitted the VAT tax declarations to regional tax authority with an unreasonably claimed amount of VAT declared for reimbursement totaling more than 170 million UAH.

Accumulation of tax credit was due to the purchase of tobacco products from enterprises of the real sector of economy. Sale of such products was not declared.

Control and verification measures did not confirm presence of residues at the enterprise.

Collected materials were handed over to Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine and Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Odessa region for investigation within the framework of criminal proceeding.
