Mikhail Titarchuk: Budget has received 1.6 billion UAH according to the results of court cases since the beginning of 2020

88.6 thousand cases for 324.5 billion UAH were pending in courts since the beginning of 2020. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the STS Mikhail Titarchuk during meeting of the STS Board.
According to him, during January – September 2020 the number of 19 thousand cases on the tax authorities’ claims or 21.4% of the total, amounting to 75 billion UAH or 23.1% of the total was pending in courts. 69.6 thousand cases on the taxpayers’ claims or 78.6% amounting to 249.5 billion UAH or 76.9% were pending in courts.
“The number of cases involving tax authorities is increasing every year. Comparing to the corresponding period in 2019, the number of cases has increased by 2.4%, its amount by 1% and comparing to 2018 – by 11.1% in the number of cases and 23.9% in their amount” – stated Mikhail Titarchuk.
10.65 thousand cases for 31.8 billion UAH were considered in favor of the tax authorities.
9.53 thousand cases for 25.2 billion UAH were considered in favor of the taxpayers.
“As follows during January – September2020, the number of 1.1 thousand cases was resolved in favor of the State Tax Service or 10.3%, as well as 6.6 billion UAH or 20.8% was resolved in favor of the taxpayers.” – outlined Mikhail Titarchuk.
According to the results of court proceedings in favor of the tax authorities since the beginning of 2020 (as of the 1st of October 2020) the budget has received 1.6 billion UAH, which is 82.7% more than during the corresponding period in 2019.
Deputy Chairman of the STS stated that among the key and budget-forming categories of court cases there are cases of tax debt collection and cases of invalidation / expiration of tax notifications-decisions.
