Real estate owners have paid 361.8 million UAH of property tax since the beginning of 2021

Individuals paid 361.8 million UAH of the real estate other than land tax to local budgets during January – May 2021. This is almost 45% or 111.8 million UAH more than during the corresponding period in 2020. Real estate owners transferred 250 million UAH in January – May 2020.

Real estate tax was paid in the amount of 129.4 million UAH in May 2021, which is almost 61.6% or 49.3 million UAH more than in the corresponding period of 2020.

Reminder! The specified tax is paid for an area exceeding 60 square meters for apartments, 120 square meters for houses and 180 square meters for various types of residential real estate.

Real estate tax for the reporting year 2020 is paid in 2021. Tax is charged on the total area of residential and non-residential real estate, including their shares.

Tax rates are set by decisions of local councils. However, they should not exceed 1.5% of the minimum wage, which is set per 1 square meter of the tax base as of January 1 of the reporting year. Therefore, the maximum rate should not exceed 70.85 UAH per square meter (4723.00 UAH (the minimum wage as of 01.01.2020) x 1.5 percent).

In addition, the calculated amount of real estate tax is increased by 25 thousand UAH for each real estate object, the total area of which exceeds 300 square meters for an apartment or 500 square meters for a house.

Tax notifications-decisions with amount of the real estate tax specified for payment will be sent to citizens by July 1 of the current year. Simultaneously with notification, a receipt with payment requisites for tax payment will be received, which must be paid within 60 days from the date of receipt. Payer has a right in case of disagreement with the specified amount to apply to the supervisory authority at his / her tax address for data verification.

In addition, if payers have not received such notification, but they are real estate tax payers, they may also apply to the supervisory authority for verification.
