STS: Digitalization in taxation sphere is an important component of the digital economy development

State Tax Service supports all projects in building of digital state.

Services that were only in projects are a reality now in taxation sphere. Measures are being taken to meet the taxpayers’ needs in convenience, simplicity and comfort of all taxation procedures. After all, digitalization, in particular, helps to level human factor in the tax administration mechanisms. In this way, the STS has reliable partners – the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Effective cooperation between the State Tax Service and the Ministry of Finance resulted in the payers’ opportunity to use such digital services as “E-Malyatko”, ID14, digital tax number, document sharing and income certificate on the Portal “Diia”.

Tax services for individuals have also become available on the Portal “Diia”. Payers can get information about their tax data in section “My taxes” on the Portal “Diia”, as well as status of payments to the budget, data on bank accounts and opportunity to pay taxes and submit declarations for individuals – single tax payers registered on the simplified taxation system.

Important and modern project, in the implementation of which the State Tax Service is actively involved, was the introduction of “Diia.City”. Its launch was announced during the third Diia Summit in Kyiv. STS’s participants of the event were acting Chairman of the STS Tetiana Kirienko and Deputy Chairman of the STS for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization Natalia Kalenichenko.

“Diia.City” is a unique legal and tax space for IT companies. It extends to the entire territory of Ukraine and creates special conditions for technology business, taking into account specifics of domestic market and competition with other countries.

Components of “Diia.City” favorable tax system – 18% income tax or 9% tax on withdrawn capital, single social contribution at level of 22% of the minimum wage, 5% personal income tax and 1.5% military levy; flexible forms of cooperation with IT specialists – gig contracts that combine freelance benefits and social guarantees; guarantees of intellectual property protection; elements of English law that facilitate access to investment; protection guarantees of individual and property from illegal intervention of security officers.

Diia Summit has demonstrated that digitalization is effective tool for qualitative change in our country.
