State Tax Service records frequent cases of sale of tobacco product without excise tax marks

State Tax Service of Ukraine constantly monitors and analyzes economic activities of business entities that sell excisable products.

According to audit results conducted by the State Tax Service of trading outlets of excisable products on the territory of Kyiv, there were frequent cases of sale of tobacco products, including tobacco for hookahs of foreign origin without excise tax marks.

In the vast majority of such trading outlets, tobacco products were sold without use of registrars of settlement operations / software registrars of settlement operations registered in the State Tax Service and without obtaining licenses for the retail sale of tobacco products.

Based on the revealed facts of illegal activity, the State Tax Service instructed regional tax authority to analyze work of certain outlets and take appropriate response measures.

Tax officials in cooperation with units of the National Police of Ukraine confiscated more than 9.3 thousand packs of tobacco products without excise tax marks for a total value of 921 thousand UAH according to results of five actual audits.

In addition, violators of the law will be fined more than 3.8 million UAH.

We ask citizens to inform tax authorities about known facts of sale of excisable products without use of registrars of settlement operations / software registrars of settlement operations, without issuing fiscal checks, without excise tax marks or relevant licenses.
