Cooperation of the State Tax Service and Office of Technical Assistance of the US Treasury Department (OTA) in implementation of the compliance strategy

Office of Technical Assistance of the US Treasury Department (OTA) for several years, on an ongoing basis, has provided assistance to the State Tax Service in development of modern Tax service.

Even Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine did not prevent continuation of cooperation. At the beginning of September 2022, representatives of OTA and the State Tax Service adjusted working plan of bilateral cooperation until 2024.

Economic Analysis Department in cooperation with Departmental Reforms Unit and International Cooperation Department held online meeting with OTA experts of the US Treasury Department as a part of practical implementation of cooperation plan of OTA and the State Tax Service.

During the meeting, international OTA experts provided practical consultations on organization of work on implementation of the Compliance strategy within the framework of achieving Strategic goals of the State Tax Service of Ukraine for 2022-2024.

International experts also provided information regarding experience of the US Internal Revenue Service in complying with tax legislation for certain business segments.

OTA’s provision of on an ongoing basis of technical advice and assistance to the newly created Unit for implementation of the compliance strategy regarding proper practice of developing and implementing programs for legislative compliance is an important prerequisite for successful increase of revenues to the budget both during the martial law and after its end.
