Delegation of the State Tax Service got acquainted with the Lithuanian experience of effective public finances managementChapter: News

Second day of visit of delegation of the State Tax Service to the Republic of Lithuania was devoted to the exchange of experience regarding effective public finances management and tax administration.

In particular, representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Service met with colleagues from the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania and the State Tax Inspectorate of Lithuania.

Parties, during events, shared their experiences regarding the main trends in tax policy implementation. Members of delegation of the State Tax Service were presented with the "Polaris" strategy, which is the main document of the institutional activities of the State Tax Inspectorate of the Republic of Lithuania.

Issues of implementation of automatic information exchange and use of information received from abroad were also discussed. Since Ukraine recently joined the Multilateral Agreement of Competent Authorities on Automatic Information Exchange on Financial Accounts (CRS), the long-term experience of Lithuanian tax officials in this area is relevant and extremely useful for the State Tax Service.

“I thank the Lithuanian partners and the entire people of Lithuania for helping Ukraine in this difficult time. We greatly appreciate our cooperation. Your support gives us strength to move forward. Exchange of experience that is currently taking place within a framework of the visit is extremely useful and important for us. Reform of the Tax Service continues and we are interested in studying successful practical experience of our international partners, which will provide an opportunity to make the Ukrainian Tax Service even more convenient and inconspicuous for taxpayers and more efficient for the state” – emphasized acting Chairman of the State Tax Service Tetiana Kirienko.

Ukrainian delegation was also shown the IT solutions and platforms used by the Lithuanian public finance institutions.
