Online marathon on taxation of Ukrainian refugees in the EU was held

Representatives of the State Tax Service took part in an online marathon on the topic: "Ukrainian refugees in the EU – taxation and declaration", organized by the all-Ukrainian public organization "Ukrainian National Bar Association".

Discussion was interesting and informative. During event, taxation issues related to many citizens of Ukraine who found refuge in the European countries and beyond and receive social assistance there were discussed.

Such payments are exempted from paying taxes, but at the same time, such incomes are currently subject to declaration on a general basis. At the same time, we note that the VRU Committee on Tax and Customs Policy, together with the State Tax Service and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine worked out changes to the Tax Code of Ukraine, according to which such incomes will not be subject to declaration.

If such changes are accepted, income declaration in case of receiving only social benefits will not need to be submitted. However, if other quality funds were received in addition to social benefits, it is necessary to submit them.

Property and income declaration can be submitted electronically through the Electronic Cabinet (cabinet.tax.gov.ua) in section "Electronic cabinet for citizens".
