General fund of the State budget received 8.8 billion UAH of the excise taxChapter: News

General fund of the State budget of Ukraine received excise tax on excise goods (products) produced in Ukraine and imported to the customs territory of Ukraine in the amount of 8.8 billion UAH in June 2023.

This is 106.4% of revenue indicator set by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine (additional 0.53 billion UAH was received) and by 0.2 billion UAH or 3% exceeds revenues of June last year.

Fulfillment of revenue indicators was achieved due to additional income from goods produced in Ukraine, namely:

tobacco products – by 1.14 billion UAH or 127.6% from the fulfilled task (4.1 billion UAH);

liquor and vodka products – by 0.33 billion UAH or 195.2% from the fulfilled revenue indicator (0.35 billion UAH);

wine-making products (without added alcohol) – by 0.06 billion UAH or 158.6% from the fulfilled revenue indicator (0.1 billion UAH) and 2.6 times more than last year's level (0.06 billion UAH).

In addition, due to introduction at the end of last year of fuel excise tax at rate of 100 euros/1000 liters instead of zero rate, as well as renewal of work of certain fuel producers in June 2023, positive dynamics of fuel excise tax revenues to the special fund of the State budget of Ukraine will continue to be maintained. Revenues amounted to 1.3 billion UAH in June, of which additional revenues to the revenue indicator amounted to 1.2 billion UAH.

Please also note that due to implementation of provisions of the Law on transferring to producers and importers of tobacco products, liquids used in electronic cigarettes the obligation to pay 5% excise tax on the retail sale of tobacco products, subsequently revenues of local budgets from this tax increased significantly.

Average monthly amount of declared 5 percent excise tax by producers and importers is 605.8 million UAH in January – May 2023, which is 2 times more than the average monthly indicators of January – May 2022 (304.3 million UAH).
