State Tax Service and Office of Technical Assistance of the US Treasury Department continue cooperation on the improvement of compliance

Meeting of representatives of the State Tax Service and Office of Technical Assistance of the US Treasury Department was devoted to discussion of the general plan on the improvement of compliance.

Head of the State Tax Service Tetiana Kiriienko noted that support and assistance of the Office of Technical Assistance of the US Treasury Department, professional experience of experts are very important for successful implementation of transformational changes of the tax service in serving taxpayers and in other priority areas of the agency's activities.

OTA representatives, in turn, noted effective measures of the State Tax Service to digitize work of the service, in particular, regarding tax audits, tax debt collection, provision of services to payers by its Contact Center.

Also, according to acting Deputy Head of the State Tax Service Yevhenii Sokur, currently the State Tax Service continues to work on solutions aimed at implementing risk management system, as well as increasing level of voluntary tax payments.

Purpose of introducing such changes is to reduce number of the "face-to-face" contacts between the State Tax Service and taxpayers and, along with this, to increase level of compliance, which will contribute to increase in revenues to the state budget.

Circle of payers is determined, for which it is more appropriate to strengthen consulting and service functions than to burden them with additional audits. At the same time, more attention will be paid to less conscientious payers, application of control measures to which can be more effective.

Participants, during the meeting, identified certain aspects of the overall compliance improvement plan, discussed work of specialists of the State Tax Service and advices of the OTA experts.
