General fund of the state budget received 10 billion UAH of the excise tax in August 2023

General fund of the State budget of Ukraine received excise tax on excisable products (goods) produced in Ukraine and imported to the customs territory of Ukraine in the amount of 10 billion UAH in August 2023. This is 120.3% of revenue indicator set by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine (additional 1.7 billion UAH was received) and by 2.3 billion UAH or 29.5% exceeds revenues of August last year.

Fulfillment of revenue indicators was achieved due to additional revenues from products produced in Ukraine, in particular:

tobacco products – by 1.6 billion UAH or 139.3% from the set task (4 billion UAH) and by 27.8% more than revenues in August 2022 (4.4 billion UAH);

liquor and vodka products – by 0.4 billion UAH or 211.7% from the set revenue indicator (0.37 billion UAH) and by 6.9% more than last year's level (0.73 billion UAH).

Also, due to implementation of provisions of the Law on transferring to producers and importers of tobacco products, liquids used in electronic cigarettes an obligation to pay the 5% excise tax on the retail sale of tobacco products, local budget revenues from this tax increased significantly.

Average monthly payment of the 5% excise tax by producers and importers is 638 million UAH during January – August 2023, which is 2.6 times more than the average monthly indicators of January – April 2022.
