State Tax Service cooperates with program "U-LEAD with Europe"Chapter: News

Potential of local taxes and levies: transformation of role of central and local authorities in tax administration – topic of a panel discussion in which specialists of the State Tax Service took part.

Representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, and local self-government associations also joined event organized by program "U-LEAD with Europe".

During the discussion, possibilities of joint actions regarding improvement of local tax administration and making necessary changes to legislation were discussed. This topic is especially important in the context of continuation of decentralization reforms on the path of Ukraine's accession to the EU.

Local self-government bodies are directly interested in increasing the inflow of funds to local budgets. And representatives of the State Tax Service confirmed their readiness to participate in the discussion of suggestions for legislative changes to work out algorithm of property tax administration mechanism, which will give the greatest effect in ensuring revenues to the local treasury.
