Taxpayers, attention! Sending of fake e-mails (messages) that contain false information is ongoing

In recent days, the fact of repeated attempts to carry out fraudulent actions by unknown persons by replacing the sender's email address with one of addresses of the official mailboxes of territorial bodies of the State Tax Service of Ukraine was recorded with the fact of sending fake e-mails (notifications) to the taxpayers’ e-mail addresses from nominal management staff of territorial bodies of the State Tax Service of Ukraine with a requirement to contact certain phone number using the Telegram, WhatsApp applications, which do not belong to this person.

Text messages are with the following content: "Good afternoon. [Surname, first name, patronymic of the management staff of territorial body of the State Tax Service of Ukraine] addresses. Tell [First name, patronymic of the taxpayer’s leadership] to contact urgently. Tel. number 0********* (Telegram, WhatsApp)".

Personal cyber hygiene should be observed using the e-mail. Be careful and attentive when opening attachments, even if they come from known recipients. Since attackers can mask the sender's address, you should not open attachments received by the e-mail without first confirming the fact that e-mail was sent by the sender.
