Tetiana Kiriienko: We have made a significant progress in implementing planned measures to reform the State Tax Service

Status of implementation of the State Tax Service Reform plan for 2024 – 2030 was discussed today by representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the State Tax Service at meeting of the Steering committee of project "Reform of the State Tax Service of Ukraine for 2024 – 2030".

"We continue to implement reforms of the National Revenue Strategy and implement measures of the State Tax Service Reform plan. Taking into account the IMF recommendations, we reviewed approaches to analyzing implementation of the State Tax Service Reform plan and used guidelines suggested by the experts" – stated acting Head of the State Tax Service Tetiana Kiirenko.

According to her, result of such changes was the introduction of a comprehensive monitoring and increased control over the implementation of measures.

"We have made a significant progress in implementing planned measures for 2024 and continue to implement international approaches and practices in work of the State Tax Service to increase level of taxpayer compliance with their tax obligations" – emphasized acting Head of the State Tax Service.

Therefore, specifically Expert commission of the State Tax Service on the application of tax risk management system was established and its first meeting was held.

It was also noted that the State Tax Service received high estimation from the IMF for bringing reform management in line with the best practices. Key changes were noted, including creation of the Steering committee, introduction of monthly reporting and systematic monitoring, creation of reform risk register, etc.

Participants, during the meeting, discussed current results of implementation of the State Tax Service Reform plan and also worked on the IMF recommendations on the application of project management implementation tools.
