Representatives of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, its territorial bodies and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, at invitation of the Swedish Tax Agency, participated in a practical event regarding tax control over the transfer pricing within framework of the Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) program, which was held in Stockholm (Sweden) with participation of experts from the United Kingdom, France and Sweden.
The event was primarily aimed at examining existing practical cases regarding operations with intangible assets, intra-group services, and business transactions, which will be subject to the future audits of taxpayers' compliance with the “arm's length” principle.
Representatives of the State Tax Service, during event, together with foreign partners, exchanged experience in organizing tax control over the transfer pricing, improving professional competencies of participants, expanding knowledge, and establishing international relations.
Ukrainian side shared its own experience in preventing and comprehensively countering aggressive international tax planning schemes, holding communication meetings with business environment in the "open microphone" mode, and also presented the "Big data TP" IT solution developed by specialists of the State Tax Service, which digitalizes process of identifying the transfer pricing risks. Foreign colleagues noted that similar software products exist only in a few countries in the world, and also noted possible further cooperation with the State Tax Service regarding this deal.
Using the best global practices allows the State Tax Service to strengthen its own developments and methodologies in order to create fair and competitive environment in Ukraine, ensure high level of compliance, and establish dialogue with the taxpayers regarding changes in their approaches to tax planning.
Participants of the meeting agreed to continue to maintain high level of cooperation within the TIWB program in the context of countering international tax evasion schemes, exchanging experience, and developing modern methodological approaches for analyzing the transfer pricing.
