Employees of the State Tax Service of Ukraine conducted more than 500 actual audits of tobacco sales facilities during December 2024 – January 2025. According to their results, a number of violations were identified and almost 14.2 million UAH of fines were imposed.
In addition, at initiative of the State Tax Service, the National Police seized tobacco products worth more than 300 thousand UAH due to the detected facts of illegal circulation.
Particularly, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, almost 20 audits of specialized stores were carried out, where tobacco products sold. During audits, numerous violations were identified, including:
− product sale without cash registers;
− failure to comply with procedure for keeping records of inventories.
For this, violators will receive about 8 million UAH of fines.
In Vinnytsia region, during audit of a hookah bar, tax officials discovered violations in settlements and circulation of excisable products worth almost 150 thousand UAH. There following were established:
sale of tobacco products without cash registers;
product sale at the unregistered trade point.
Based on the audit results, tax officials initiated seizure of almost 140 thousand UAH worth of excisable products by the National Police.
State Tax Service constantly analyzes activities of business entities involved in the retail sale of tobacco products, tobacco and liquids used in electronic cigarettes.
Data accounting system of registrars of settlement operations is used to identify violators. This allows identifying entrepreneurs who understate revenue or do not make cashless payments at all.
