Ruslan Kravchenko discussed with team of the EU Delegation to Ukraine preparation for the screening of Section 16 "Taxation"

Head of the State Tax Service Ruslan Kravchenko discussed with team of the EU Delegation to Ukraine preparation for the screening of Section 16 "Taxation" within framework of the negotiation process on Ukraine’s accession to the EU. He particularly met with team of the EU Delegation to Ukraine: Henrik Huitfeldt, Nicola Sibona and Ekaterina Yakovleva.

"The main question is Section 16 "Taxation" within framework of the negotiation process on Ukraine’s accession to the EU. State Tax Service is actively working on the high-quality implementation of tasks set for it. This is a whole set of measures that will allow successful holding of the screening bilateral meeting of the European Commission and Ukraine, scheduled for June 5 – 6 in Brussels" – stated Ruslan Kravchenko. 

First of all, it was about the real approximation of Ukraine’s tax administration to the best European practices. 

State Tax Service is already providing Ministry of Finance the main executor of negotiating Section 16 with answers to the EU Questionnaire and correspondence tables, presentation and other materials.

State Tax Service is also cooperating with international experts, particularly the EU4PFM regarding future integration of our IT systems with the EU systems. 

They also discussed implementation status of the National Revenue Strategy and measures aimed at improving tax administration. 

One more question raised by the EU representatives is reasons for overfulfillment of the state budget revenue plan by 22 billion UAH in two months.

"I said that this is result of the implementation of comprehensive measures since the beginning of year. Specifically, these are implementation of the National Revenue Strategy, counteraction against schemes and shadow economy, personnel changes and anti-corruption measures in the State Tax Service. And the most importantly, constant and transparent communication with the taxpayers" – stated Ruslan Kravchenko.
