Lesya Karnaukh: State Tax Service and the US Treasury Office of Technical Assistance develop joint action plan for the renewed cooperation

State Tax Service of Ukraine, together with the Office of Technical Assistance of the US Treasury, develop specific directions for the new cooperation stage. This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Lesya Karnaukh after online meeting with the Office’s specialists.

"We are finalizing joint action plan. We plan to launch it in October" – she said.  

Acting Head of the State Tax Service recalled that during the previous cooperation stage with international partners, we have already gone through a path of successful strategic changes, which allowed us to systematically change work of the State Tax Service. 

Parties analyzed results of the OTA’s technical assistance in eight key areas covering a wide range of work.

- General audit

- International audit (international taxation)

- Tax debt management

- Taxpayer services

- Organizational strengthening/Strategic planning/Reforms

- Anti-corruption

- Technology modernization

- Compliance investigation/Compliance in risk management

"New stages will cover not less important areas. We are interested in further work on deepening compliance approaches, improving institutional capacity and introducing innovations, improving processes that affect tax administration and, as a result, increasing efficiency of revenue mobilization to the budget of Ukraine. State Tax Service is open to the new ideas, implementation of the best international practices and real changes focused on results" – emphasized Lesya Karnaukh.
