Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions topped rating of the transport tax revenues

200.4 million UAH of the transport tax was paid to local budgets during January – October 2025. This is 2.6% (or +5.1 million UAH) more than the corresponding period last year.
Individuals transferred 97.8 million UAH, legal entities – 102.6 million UAH.
The biggest amounts were received by budgets of:
Kyiv – 60.2 million UAH,
Dnipropetrovsk region – 18.9 million UAH,
Odesa region – 15.8 million UAH,
Kyiv region – 14.6 million UAH.
Transport tax is annual tax paid by owners of certain categories of passenger cars. Its revenues are directed to local budgets and used by communities to finance the local needs: road repairs, street lighting, landscaping, public infrastructure.
Payers are owners of passenger cars production year of which is not more than 5 years old and which average market cost exceeds 375 minimum wages (3 million UAH in 2025).
List of cars is compiled annually by the Ministry of Economy and published on its official website. Currently, it includes 1 362 models of passenger cars that are subject to taxation in 2025.
These are the following car brands: AstonMartin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, GMC, Hymer-Mercedes, Ineos, Jaguar, Lamborghini, LandRover, Lexus, Lotus, Lincoln, McLaren, Maserati, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-Maybach, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Toyota and others.
Annual tax rate is fixed at 25 thousand UAH per car.
Individuals receive tax notification from the State Tax Service and must pay the tax within 60 days of receipt.
Legal entities independently calculate the tax and pay it quarterly in equal installments.
It is possible to pay the tax:
- through the payer’s Electronic cabinet (section "Status of settlements with the budget");
- in the mobile application of the State Tax Service "My Tax Service";
- through Internet banking or at any bank using requisites specified in the notification-decision.
