29.7 million UAH has already been collected from municipal enterprises in three months since the start of the automatic tax debt write-off system. This was stated by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh during the Ukrainian municipal forum with participation of representatives of communities, the Government and the Parliament.
"As of today, more than 2.7 thousand municipal enterprises have tax debt. Total amount is more than 5 billion UAH, of which over 4.1 billion is debt to the state budget. And the lion's share is the debt they have declared themselves to pay. We approach this question carefully, exclusively within the legislative framework" – Lesya Karnaukh emphasized.
According to her, joint working groups are currently working, debtors are being identified, causes of debts are being analyzed, and legal mechanisms for debt repayment are being applied.
"Such approach is about honesty and equality, not about pressure. It is applied equally to all debtors, regardless of whether it is a municipal enterprise, state institution or private business. Today the main task is to ensure that funds that come to the budget work for our defense and security" – emphasized acting Head of the State Tax Service.
She also noted that compared to the last year, local budget revenues increased by almost 14%. In the wartime, income stability is one of the key tasks for every community. State Tax Service is always ready to provide maximum assistance for high-quality tax administration.
"A difficult meeting. With tough questions, but constructive. And this is natural, because communities have many difficult questions to which there are not always clear answers. That is why such open dialogue is important" – Lesya Karnaukh added.
Rent payments, interaction with communities and development of tax services were also discussed during the forum.
"Such discussions are opportunity to determine together what we can do for more effective tax administration, to understand what tax services are the most needed by communities. And most importantly, what to do so that the Tax Service is perceived as a partner, not a controller" – Lesya Karnaukh emphasized.
