"Taxes protect": Victoria's story from the Instagram

Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, together with the State Tax Service, continue information campaign “Taxes protect”.

Today it is offered to consider a new life situation: blogger Victoria receives income from advertising on the Instagram. Find out what taxes she must pay and where her money goes.

41-year-old Victoria runs a popular blog on the Instagram. By advertising Ukrainian and foreign brands, she earns about 70 thousand UAH per month (210 thousand UAH/quarter; 840 thousand UAH/year). Victoria has registered her activities as an individual-entrepreneur of Group III. This allows her to officially provide advertising services and receive payment from the foreign companies.

Every quarter, Victoria submits tax declaration through the “My Tax Service” app and pays taxes.

Result for the year looks like this:

If Victoria receives payment for her advertising services on a personal bank card, in cryptocurrency or in cash and does not declare these funds, it turns out that she does not pay income taxes. Then:

- militaries does not have high-quality shoes to move quickly and conveniently in positions,

- in kindergarten, children cannot have a high-quality and tasty lunch in the cafeteria,

- state social insurance funds will not be replenished, therefore, Victoria will not receive social insurance and relevant payments if necessary.
