Business works in difficult conditions – State Tax Service reminds of simple rules regarding the fuel for generators

As of today, every working generator is not just equipment, but a guarantee of business stability and a contribution to the common endurance of the country.

We remind the taxpayers of several rules for storing fuel for such devices. They will help to work in conditions of outages calmly and without consequences.

Without any permits

The state has simplified requirements for a period of the martial law as much as possible.

It is possible to store up to 2 000 liters of fuel to fuel the electric generator at each facility.

No license, permits or other administrative services are required.

If the fuel is more than 2 000 liters

Fuel storage declaration must be submitted.

The declaration:

- is submitted free of charge;

- is compiled in any form;

- can be submitted in paper or electronic form;

- is submitted to the territorial tax service authority.

Right to store fuel arises from the moment of submitting the declaration without waiting for additional decisions

What must be indicated in the declaration:

1. Data about the entity: entity’s title (or full name of the entrepreneur), code of the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations of Ukraine (or the Taxpayer’s registration card registration number), location.

2. Technical data: total capacity of tanks and containers used for storage.

3. Address: actual location of these containers.

Why it is important not to ignore these rules

State Tax Service appreciates honesty of business. During 2025 and early 2026, tax authorities did not establish a single fact of violation of these requirements, and no financial sanctions were applied. This indicates a high legal culture of business.
