Owners of luxury cars paid 34.6 million UAH of the transport tax: the most in Kyiv

According to the results of January 2026, owners of expensive cars transferred 34.6 million UAH of the transport tax to local budgets. This payment was provided by 2 812 payers - both individuals and enterprises.

Compared to the same period last year, revenues increased by 18.5%. In January 2025, this figure was 29.2 million UAH.

Leaders in terms of payment volumes:

- Kyiv city – 10.7 million UAH,

- Dnipropetrovsk region – 2.8 million UAH,

- Kyiv region – 2.8 million UAH,

- Lviv region – 2.7 million UAH.

These regions traditionally show the highest figures due to significant number of premium cars.

Official list of cars subject to the transport tax in 2026 includes 1 259 premium and luxury models, determined by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. List is published on the official website of the Ministry and is basis for the tax accrual.

Among the brands whose cars are the most often included in the list are Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Porsche, Land Rover, Tesla, Jaguar, Maserati, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, McLaren, as well as some expensive Toyota and Volvo models..

Cars under 5 years old, whose average market cost exceeds established threshold, are subject to taxation. In 2026, this is more than 3.2 million UAH. Fixed transport tax rate has been established for such cars – 25 thousand UAH per year for each car.

Transport tax is fully credited to local budgets. Therefore, every UAH paid from this tax is directed to financing social programs, developing community infrastructure and supporting economic stability of regions.
