Law enforcement officers caught head of one department of the Kyiv city Tax department taking a bribe

Kyiv Regional Prosecutorєs Office and Main Directorate "D" of the Department for Protection of National Statehood of the Security Service of Ukraine detained employee of Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in Kyiv city while receiving illegal benefit. Exposure took place with leadership assistance of the State Tax Service.

According to the investigation, head of the department for organizing debt collection from payers and debtors who are in the liquidation procedure of the Tax debt management department of the State Tax Service in Kyiv city demanded 500 USD from the company every month for non-collection of the tax debt.

Law enforcement officers caught him red-handed while handing more than 1500 USD, probably another part of the bribe for December, January and February. Investigation is ongoing.

Position of the State Tax Service is consistent and unchanged. Anyone who uses their position for personal gain will be held accountable under the law. We will continue to help clean up the Service and renew the trust.
