“Google tax”: more than 4.2 billion UAH has already been transferred to the budget in 2026

“Google Tax”. Budget has already received more than 4.2 billion since the beginning of year. This was informed by acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh on the Facebook page.  

This year’s revenues exceed figure of January – February last year by 0.7 billion UAH. Then, 3.5 billion UAH was paid to the budget.

“These funds are paid by non-residents who supply electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine and are registered as the VAT payers. Particularly, 38.5 million Euros and 52.1 million US dollars were paid in January – February 2026” – she noted.

Leading companies in the tax payment: Apple, Google, Valve, Meta, Sony, Etsy and Netflix.

To date, 151 non-resident individuals who supply electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine have already registered as the VAT payers.

“Paying such tax is important element of fair taxation of the digital economy and contributes to additional funding for the State budget of Ukraine” – Lesya Karnaukh added.

Reminder! Obligation to register as the VAT payer for non-residents arises if, during the last 12 months, the supply volume of electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine exceeds equivalent of 1 million UAH.
