Local budgets of Odessa region received more than 2.7 million UAH of the transport tax during January-February 2020. Revenues growth has increased by 0.1 million UAH or 5.2% compared to the same period in 2019.
Legal entities have paid more than 1.6 million UAH of the transport tax and individuals –1.1 million UAH since the beginning of year.
It should be reminded that the transport tax payers are individuals and legal entities, including non-residents, who have their own cars registered in Ukraine under the current legislation, since the issue of which has passed not more than five years (inclusively) and the average market cost of which exceeds 375 minimum wages established by the law as of January 1 of the tax (reporting) year (4723 UAH x 375).
Taxpayers – legal entities independently calculate amount of tax and submit declarations. Tax is paid by advanced contributions quarterly up to the 30th of the month following the reporting year, which must be reflected in the annual tax declaration.
For individuals, calculation of payable amount of tax on the object or objects of taxation belonging to them and registered in Ukraine is carried out by the controlling body at the place of registration of the taxpayer on the basis of information necessary for calculation of the tax received from the law enforcement agencies.
Transport tax is one of the sources of replenishment for local budgets, since it remains entirely at the disposal of local communities.
