Real estate owners of Ternopil region paid 30 million 929.3 thousand UAH of the real estate tax other than land to the local budgets during January – April 2020. This exceeded expected revenues by 71.7%. Therefore, the territorial communities additionally received 12 million 912 thousand UAH of this payment. Comparing to the same period in 2019, the real estate tax payment has increased by 108.3 thousand UAH.
The main payers are legal entities. After all, the share of real estate tax paid by them exceeds 90%. As a result, they transferred 27 million 947.2 thousand UAH to the local treasury, which is 13 million 636.3 thousand UAH more than expected or + 95.3%.
Individuals paid 2 million 982 thousand UAH of the real estate tax, which exceeds the corresponding revenues in 2019 by 319.5 thousand UAH.
Real estate tax other than land is one of the main payments that fills the local treasury, as it is transferred there in full amount. It is paid by the owners of residential and non-residential real estate – legal entities and individuals.
It is pertinent to recall that the “quarantine” innovations provide exemption from the real estate tax other than land payment from March 1 to April 30, 2020, as well as of the non-residential real estate owned by individuals. However, this year the controlling bodies charge taxpayers with the real estate tax for the tax (reporting) year 2019. Therefore, requirements for the tax exemption provided by the “quarantine” legislation will be taken into account when calculating the payment for the non-residential real estate in 2021 for the tax (reporting) year 2020.
