Due to the legal sale of alcohol and tobacco products, local budgets received 44 million UAH of the excise tax on retail sale of excisable products from the beginning of 2020.
These are funds that communities received due to responsible business representatives who sell alcohol and tobacco legally. Such sale of excisable products that requires the fiscal receipt to reflect the amount of retail excise tax, the actual payer of which is the consumer.
It is noteworthy that there is a positive tendency in the retail excise tax payment (+ 3.4% comparing to the same period in 2019) which in absolute terms is one and a half million UAH.
At the same time, the Tax Service of Khmelnytskyi region noted that the excise tax on retail sale of excisable products occupies an important place in tax revenues to local budgets of Khmelnytskyi region, along with the personal income tax, property and single tax.
“That is why active position of both the leaders of territorial communities on the legalization of business and residents plays an important role in ensuring completeness of the excise tax payment. Receipt of fiscal check buying excisable products is a confirmation of the fact of sale of goods. Accordingly, citizens who require this settlement document buying excisable products not only discipline business entities, but also increase budgetary revenues of their community.” – commented Head of the Excisable Goods Turnover and Taxation Control Department Viktor Kukhar.
It should be reminded that the excise tax on retail sale of beer, alcohol beverages, tobacco products, tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes is paid at a 5% rate and credited to the budget of administrative – territorial unit where trading points of excisable products are located.
