Main Directorate of the STS in Rivne region reported that the taxpayers paid 64.5 million UAH of rent for the special use of forest resources to the budget during January – June 2020.
Specifically, the local budgets of Rivne region received 43.8 million UAH of rent for the special use of forest resources, which exceeds the last year’s figures by 10.8 million UAH, respectively; the state budget received 20.7 million UAH which is 2.6 million UAH more than the last year’s revenues.
Main Directorate of the STS in Rivne region recalls that activity of business entities related to the collection, purchase (including from the population), transportation, storage and sale of wild fruits, berries, mushrooms, medicinal plants belonging to the special use of forest resources, which is paid.
“Season of mass logging of forest has started in the region. The rent revenues for the use of forest resources are a significant contribution to local treasuries. Therefore, the task of local authorities and specialists of the State Tax Service is to continue effective cooperation so that certain tax payments from the use of forest go to the budget.” – reported Head of Main Directorate of the STS in Rivne region Vitalii Chui.
He also noted that if local government leaders and community residents become active public controllers to ensure that the procurement process takes place legally with mandatory payment of taxes, community budgets will receive additional funds to address the socio-economic problems.
It should be reminded that the order of calculation and rates of rent for the special use of forest resources are regulated by Article 256 Section IX “Rent” of the Tax Code of Ukraine.
