Public Council at the Tax Service of Poltava region has been working since March 2003. Since then, its membership and number of members have changed. The next term of main advisory body at the STS in Poltava region began its work on the 8th of September 2020, after the relevant constituent assembly.
“Due to the introduction of quarantine measures, the term of previous Public Council was extended but this period did not pass in vain.” – outlined newly elected Chairman of the Public Council at the STS in Poltava region Oleksiy Nestulya. Answering journalists’ questions, he noted that during the whole period of the Council’s work many issues were considered; suggestions and remarks of the council’s members were always processed and sent to the addressees. “Moreover, some of these suggestions have been heard and taken into account at the highest level” – emphasized Oleksiy Nestulya.
In turn, interacting with the press, Head of Main Directorate of the STS in Poltava region Oleksandr Lavrov emphasized that the Public Council at Main Directorate of the STS is a consultative and advisory body and tax authorities are always willing to help but do not interfere in the council’s work. In addition, tax specialists of Poltava region do not have membership right in the specified body; instead decisions of the Public Council at the State Tax Service are mandatory for consideration and further implementation by the STS specialists. During the speech at meeting, the Head of Main Directorate of the STS in Poltava region called on all participants to be fair and useful to each other, as outcome of the Public Council will depend on it.
Agenda of meeting included issues related to the work of STS’s bodies, current amendments to tax legislation, including: features of the latest software RCO, reform of Ukrainian tax legislation in terms of taxation of legal entities and individuals, etc.
Specifically during the meeting it was said that Poltava region is traditionally among the top 5 in terms of filling the state treasury. This year the state budget received 12 billion 381.3 million UAH by virtue of the regional taxpayers. 7 billion 358.6 million UAH of taxes and fees was paid to local budgets of Poltava region controlled by STS in Poltava region during January – August 2020. Single contribution to compulsory state social insurance amounted 4 billion 875.2 million UAH during January – August 2020, which is 79.5 million UAH or 1.7% more than in 2019.
During the discussion, members of the Public Council at the STS in Poltava region voiced many problematic issues, including: peculiarities of filling local budgets, land payment and control over the administration of taxes on farms, delegation of powers of members of the Public Council at the STS in Poltava region to the relevant advisory bodies of the highest level, etc. At the end of meeting it was decided to determine a list of the most relevant topics and include them for consideration at the next meetings of the Public Council.
