One of the budget-forming payments of local communities is the excise tax on sale of excisable products (alcohol beverages and tobacco products) by retail business entities. Retail sale of alcohol and tobacco is carried out by 2186 business entities, including 1908 individuals and 278 legal entities.
Main Directorate of the STS in Mykolaiv region reported that due to its effective work on high-quality tax administration, counteraction to illegal turnover of excisable products, prevention of unlicensed activities in the excisable product market, the local treasuries received 147.4 million UAH during January – October 2020 from the sale of alcohol beverages and tobacco products. This is 10.3 million UAH or almost 8% more than during January – October 2019.
In addition, as a result of measures aimed at reducing the shadow turnover of excisable products, the Main Directorate of the STS in Mykolaiv region conducted 172 audits of business entities during January – October 2020, which resulted in financial sanctions amounting to 8.9 million UAH, of which 2.3 million UAH has already been transferred to the budget.
