Procedure for settlement operations is regulated by Section II of the Law of Ukraine "On the use of registrars of settlement operations in trade, public catering and services" (hereinafter – Law on RRO).
Article 3 of the Law on RRO stipulates that business entities involved in settlement operations are obliged to conduct them for the full amount of purchase (provision of services) through registrars of settlement operations (abb. RRO) and in cases provided by this Law, using duly registered settlement books.
Provisions of Article 5 of the Law on RRO provide business entities with opportunity for a period of failure of the registrar of settlement operations and its repair or in the case of temporary not more than 7 working days, disconnection of electricity to carry out settlement operations with use of properly registered book of settlement operations and settlement book or with the use of a properly registered reserve registrar of settlement operations.
