Plans for 2026, tax administration challenges and further cooperation areas were discussed during the meeting between acting Head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Lesya Karnaukh and representatives of the British Embassy in Kyiv.
According to Lesya Karnaukh, despite difficult security situation, the Ukraine’s budget system remains stable. At the same time, the large-scale destruction of production facilities and critical infrastructure facilities due to the constant shelling by russians has affected revenues.
"Despite all the challenges, tendency towards filling the budget persists, which indicates adaptation of business and tax administration efficiency" – added acting Head of the State Tax Service.
She also said that the Service pays special attention to digital transformation. Plans for this year are to make the Electronic cabinet more convenient, logical and accessible for different groups of taxpayers. Its modernization will allow expanding functionality of reporting and applications, improving the interface, integrating with other government systems and providing ability to receive data in a real time.
"We strive to make interaction of the taxpayers with the tax authorities as simple, transparent and technological as possible. We are introducing the CRM, online services and integrating with the European digital systems" – Lesya Karnaukh emphasized.
State Tax Service is also working on improving tax debt management, reforming tax audits and mechanisms to combat shadow taxation and tax evasion schemes. Interaction model with the taxpayers is based on the risk analysis, personalized support and analytical support for the decision-making.
"International support allows the State Tax Service not only to implement ambitious plans, but also to systematically transform tax administration in Ukraine. We use the best international practices to make the tax system more transparent, understandable for business and effective for the state" – Lesya Karnaukh outlined.
