Tetiana Kirienko: There will be a harsh reaction to all corruption among the tax officials

Employees of the Anti-money Laundering Department of the State Tax Service and the National Police of Ukraine under procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office exposed illegal activities of officials of the State Tax Service in Zhytomyr region.

Extortion and receipt of illegal benefit in the amount of 50 thousand UAH from the business entity for writing off the tax debt was detected.

“My principled position is zero tolerance for corruption in the State Tax Service. All heads are informed of personal responsibility for corrupt actions of both themselves and their subordinates. I will respond harshly to all illegal facts discovered by the law enforcement officers to protect our taxpayers. State Tax Service will assist in the full and objective investigation of such cases” – stated acting Chairman of the State Tax Service Tetiana Kirienko.

According to her, after relevant procedural actions, all those responsible will be held accountable according to Ukrainian legislation.
