State Tax Service and Association of Taxpayers held educational seminar

State Tax Service of Ukraine and Association of Taxpayers of Ukraine continue to hold joint events for taxpayers. During today's meeting, participants discussed another series of issues in taxation sphere, which are of the most interest to business.

Representatives of the State Tax Service explained reasons for assigning taxpayers to the risk category and procedure for their actions to eliminate this status, reasons for registration suspension of tax invoices/adjustment calculations in the Unified Register of Tax Invoices. In particular, it was noted that in such cases, payer must be notified of the reason for such assignment or suspension.

Tax officials also informed how and for what purpose it is necessary to submit the VAT payer data table, procedure of their compilation. It was emphasized that for taxpayers’ convenience, the "Online education" section has been created on website of the State Tax Service, which contains useful and important information, including recommendations of the State Tax Service for issuing explanation and providing copies of supporting documents for resuming registration of suspended tax invoice.

Participants, during the event, also discussed work of the regional level commissions on issues of registration suspension of tax invoices, assigning payer to the list of risk in case of control and verification measures at his counterparty. In particular, representatives of the State Tax Service emphasized that classifying payer as risky is not a reason for withdrawing or confirming tax credit.

Information about operation of electronic services of the State Tax Service, in particular, regarding the use of modes of the electronic fuel and ethyl alcohol administration system was useful for participants of the meeting. Electronic Cabinet has submodes that allow to download certain lists of excise invoices, track transaction by requisites, view tax invoices by payer code and transaction status, etc.

Tax officials also informed about legislative innovations that are expected in the near future, including changes to Procedure for registration suspension of tax invoice/adjustment calculation, formed taking into account suggestions of business associations, businesses and the public.

State Tax Service noted its readiness to participate in such educational events organized by associations, which make it possible to clarify legal norms, provide practical recommendations and, using examples of individual cases, to focus on the most common mistakes made by taxpayers when fulfilling their tax obligations.
